 Occupational
disorders typical of typographical work have completely changed as a
result of the current work organization determined by the technological
advances. In fact, risks arising from the operations of composition and
preparation of the matrices have almost completely disappeared. However,
as mentioned before, accidents, acoustic pollution and risk from ink are
still problems that may arise during printing. Therefore, it is necessary
to use machinery supplied with the appropriate safety systems, to arrange
for adequate ventilation systems for the exchange of air in the working
environments and to employ the proper personal protective devices (such
as gloves, earplugs and headsets, masks, etc.).
