 In order to
prevent laser risks it is necessary to avoid exposure in the most
susceptible subjects, i.e. those with existing eye-impairment. Environmental
protection is carried out by circumscribing the areas where lasers are
employed, by restricting the employment of such instruments to the
authorized persons, by eliminating reflecting surfaces from the room
where the laser is employed or by avoiding to address the beam over them.
Furthermore, it is necessary to shield the beam. Finally, it is of
primary importance to employ eye protection, i.e. lenses that vary
according to the type of laser and that guarantee also lateral
protection.
